Thumbtack is a local services marketplace that connects customers with the right professionals for anything they need done. We rally around the impact Thumbtack has on people’s lives — helping brides plan their perfect wedding, families improve their homes, and small businesses grow and thrive. Thumbtack has over 1,000 services, millions of customer requests, and hundreds of thousands of paying professionals. Join our growing team in the quest to build THE destination for anything you need done.
The Thumbtack design team is a highly-collaborative and empathetic team of product designers, communication designers, researchers, and content strategists working to research, explore, and iterate on functional, beautiful, and delightful user experiences. We’re working on really hard and complex problems at scale and bringing an entire offline experience (scoping a project, finding the right pro, scheduling, payment…) online.
We’re changing the entire experience of hiring local professionals and empowering individuals to do and achieve more. By replacing everyday obstacles with opportunities, we’re enabling people to live fuller, more meaningful lives at home, at work, and in their communities.
While others are trying to commoditize people, we’re focusing on bringing relationships and personalization back into professional services. We’re changing the face of small businesses by empowering them to focus on what they want to do while we take care of the stuff they have to do.
Competitors like Amazon, Google, and Facebook have entered the local services space because they recognize the potential in this $700B total addressable market. We have a solid foundation but are focused on building a memorable, differentiated, and beautiful brand. Be a part of the team that turns Thumbtack into a household name.
Leadership believes in the impact of design and the role that it plays in our success as a company. As our team grows, help define a culture of design at Thumbtack and beyond. This is an opportunity to not just click into an existing org but to shape it from the ground up. As a team, we want to have a greater impact in the design community. To do that, we need leaders like you.
